Meet The Team

The four partners of Gilroy Finance Group oversee every aspect of the business, either directly or through the management team - but are always looking for improvements to our service or to the business as a whole.

Jamie Steadman

Jamie first joined the group in early 2013 in a part time role, gaining valuable insight into the business while balancing his studies. Later that year, after completing his A Levels, he transitioned into a full time apprenticeship, marking the beginning of his career in accountancy.

In 2017, Jamie’s expertise and commitment to the firm were acknowledged when he was made a partner at Gilroy Finance Group. Stepping into this leadership position, he took on broader responsibilities, helping shape the firm's strategic direction and build strong client relationships.

Today, Jamie leads the financial accounting department, overseeing two teams across multiple offices. Under his leadership, these teams manage all financial accounting functions for the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning for clients.

Alongside his managerial responsibilities, Jamie continues to work closely with a wide ranging portfolio of clients, from small sole traders to large limited companies spanning various industries. His extensive experience and client focused approach make him a key figure within the firm, ensuring the highest standard of service for businesses across the Midlands.

Tash Harris

Tash started her finance career in 2005 in a trainee role within a small firm on the outskirts of Leicester City Centre. A couple of years later she moved to a blue chip company, working in the credit team. Over the six years she was with the company, she progressed to Credit Manager, overseeing the collection of ~£35m debt each month, across multiple divisions and countries. During her time with the company, she developed new credit account opening procedures to reduce the risk of fraud and she also implemented new procedures to monitor credit limits and reduce risk. Tash was also part of the development and implementation team when the company rolled out a brand new global finance system.

In 2012, Tash decided to move in to a practice role. She completed her qualifications and joined MNE Accounting part time in 2012. In June 2013, the company gained a large pharmaceutical client and Tash joined MNE full time. Tash looks after a large portfolio of clients, from small sole traders to large companies, across many industries.

Tash also oversees the outsourcing, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll departments across all of the businesses, and her teams look after more than 600 bookkeeping and payroll clients. She works with clients to ensure HMRC compliance, reviews accounting processes to make sure that they work for the client and implements various accounting systems depending on the client’s requirements.

Tim Emmony

Tim began his training in 2002 after completing his A Levels by taking an apprenticeship at a medium sized accounting firm in Leicester City Centre.  After qualifying, he moved into industry and worked in roles in Stockbroking, Manufacturing, Education and Real Estate.

In 2010, Tim founded what was then MNE Accounting Limited, from a small office on Church Gate in Leicester City Centre.  The firm grew steadily until 2012 when the first employees began joining the firm.

Today, Tim looks after three Gilroy Finance Group offices in Melton, Matlock and Ashbourne.  His work is centred around business advice and tax planning for high net worth individuals.  At the firm’s strategic level, Tim is tasked with working on projects with the other partners, looking at acquisition and growth strategies.

Outside of Gilroy Finance Group, Tim has served on the board of non-executive directors for a Leicestershire credit union, advising on compliance and finance areas of the business.

Tim qualified as a pilot in 2019, completing the final of many exams on his 35th birthday and now enjoys taking family and friends for flights across the country in his spare time.  Tim lives in a West Leicestershire village with his young family.

Tom Coombes

Tom joined Gilroy Finance Group after earning his Master’s degree in Forensic Accounting, initially stepping in to support internal accounts. With his keen eye for detail, he quickly expanded his impact by developing numerous internal systems across various departments, showcasing his knack for improving efficiency. Between 2019 and 2023, Tom played a pivotal role in 9 of the 10 acquisitions completed by the group. His meticulous work gathering and cleansing data ensured smooth handovers, enabling GFG to effectively manage a growing client base.

Now, Tom leads the administration team, a role that’s grown significantly under his guidance. What started as a modest 1.6 FTEs spread across two locations has expanded to 3.5 FTEs across five, reflecting the team’s increased responsibilities and skill set. This development has transformed the team into a vital asset, ensuring clients are well-supported throughout their journey with GFG.

Tom now spends his time between the offices assisting the various departments with how they can become more efficient. Primarily, he’s based in Leicester but visits the various members of his team throughout the working week. 

Tom lives in a small town in the south of Leicestershire with his young family. He’s passionate about technology and is often found researching the next innovative idea.
