The Gilroy Finance Group is a group of accounting businesses offering a range of services from across the wide spectrum of accounting. From bookkeeping work for a small business to advising clients on selling their business or a landlord on structuring their portfolio, one or more of our businesses are perfectly positioned to help. 

Our History

What started as a single accounting firm, dedicated to advising clients on in-year strategic movements and focusing on the business side of finance, has grown into a trusted network of financial professionals dedicated to excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Through expansion and acquisition we are now proud to offer thousands of clients across the UK relevant advice through specialist firms.

Our businesses have varied specialisms but a shared commitment to:

Acquisitions and Growth

We have successfully acquired dozens of businesses over the past 5 years and have integrated thousands of clients into our group. These acquisitions allowed us to open five new offices across the Midlands and significantly strengthened our ability to serve our clients with greater accessibility, expertise, and efficiency. 

By expanding our regional presence, we have enhanced our local knowledge, allowing us to provide more tailored support to businesses in diverse industries. Our clients now benefit from a wider team of experienced professionals, offering specialised services and strategic financial advice with a more hands-on, personal approach. 

With more locations, we can offer a greater level of service and have access to a stronger network of resources, ensuring that the businesses that we work with the highest standard of accountancy and advisory services whenever and wherever they need them.

How we think accountancy should be done

We have lots of views of how an accountancy firm should be run, from experience of working in and with dozens of accountancy firms. 

All firms are different but many have lost their way and aren’t advising as we think they should.  A common misnomer for clients of firms we have taken over is that the excellent service they are used to, means they have been receiving excellent advice too, but we’ve found these to be mutually exclusive more often than not.

We’re really proud of our offices and believe that a poorly organised or maintained office is probably indicative of the mindset of its management.  

When you come to see us, you will love the design elements of our offices and you’ll feel at home more than you feel like you’re in an accounting firm.

We do not believe that employees’ main motivation is their salary. It is often the extra perks and benefits that make people happy.

We’re always looking to do more for our employees whether that’s trips abroad or providing them with discounts on their weekly shop. Happy colleagues mean that our clients get to work with the same people more than once which is always appreciated.

Embracing technology

Even in the time we have existed as a firm, technology has really moved on.  And we like to embrace it where we can to both improve the experience for our clients and to keep our fees as low as they can be.  

Where possible we try to encourage clients to go paperless for speed, data security and for better record keeping.  We of course will print where our clients would prefer it but we believe technology is improving for the better of our industry.

Large firm does not mean impersonal service

We believe that firms can be larger and still maintain quality, personal advice. In our experience, smaller or one person firms simply can’t know and do everything.

We utilise teams and individuals to allow for more well rounded advice. This means that you may talk to more people but critically they’re always the right person for the question you need answering and they’re always employed directly by us (no outsourcing or offshoring!).
